About minecraftservers

A free directory of public Minecraft servers, run independently.

minecraftserve.rs is a directory of public Minecraft servers. Anyone can browse it without an account, anyone who runs a server can list it for free, and the whole thing is paid for by the people who run it rather than by the servers on it.

Every listed address is pinged on a short cycle. The player counts, version numbers and the online indicator you see across the site come from those pings, not from anything an owner typed into a form.

How the ranking works

The default order on the homepage and on /servers is votes received in the current calendar month, highest first. When two servers are level on votes, the one with more players online right now goes above the other.

  • Vote totals for the month reset at midnight UTC on the first of each month, so a server that was busy last month has to earn its place again.
  • One vote per server per person per day, counted against a salted hash of the voter's IP address rather than the address itself.
  • Sorting by player count, rating, or newest is always available from the filter row, and none of those orders can be bought.
  • A featured slot on the homepage is the only placement that money can move, and it is always labelled Featured.

Getting your server listed

Sign in, open Add server and fill in the address, a tagline and up to five gamemodes. The address is pinged as you submit, so the server needs to be running at that moment. A moderator then reads the listing before it appears publicly, which usually happens within a day.

Listings are editable from your servers at any time. If a server stops answering pings for a long stretch it drops out of the active list rather than sitting there advertising a dead address.
